How can I log into Tradovate via TradingView with a demo account?

If you are using a demo account:
  • In TradingView, find the Tradovate connection.
  • When prompted to log in, ensure you are selecting the demo account option provided by Tradovate.
  • If the green dot appears next to the Tradovate connection in TradingView, this confirms a successful demo login.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

Delayed Data on TradingView (5-Second Refresh)

If you see a notification stating "One update every 5 seconds" while using TradingView with your Tradovate account, it is because you are currently using the TradingView "Basic" plan.

Understanding the Delay

You can use the "Basic" plan on TradingView for free. However, if you are on the "Basic" plan, be aware that there may be slight delays in the data, as this plan does not include the fastest data flow feature.

As a result, you may experience small discrepancies in the prices, which can result in worse filled prices than expected. When the market is moving fast, a 5-second lag means the price you see on your chart is no longer the actual price available in the market.

*Important Note: The Trading Pit does not have a direct affiliation with TradingView and cannot be held responsible for these discrepancies.

The Free Fix: Use the Tradovate Platform

If you do not want to pay for a TradingView subscription to remove this limit, you can use the Tradovate platform directly to view real-time price action.

  • Use the Tradovate Desktop or Web app: For your actual execution and price watching, we recommend using Tradovate’s native tools. Tradovate does not have a 5-second refresh cap; it provides a true tick-by-tick data stream.

  • Dual-Platform Strategy: You can keep TradingView open in one window for your high-level technical analysis, but use the Tradovate screen for your "active" entries and exits where every second counts.

How to Remove the Limit on TradingView

To see instantaneous, tick-by-tick price updates directly on the TradingView interface, TradingView requires a paid subscription (Essential, Plus, or Premium). Once you upgrade your TradingView account level, the 5-second throttle is automatically removed.
